Israeli army wounds a Palestinian near a settlement in the West Bank

The Israeli army shot and wounded on Sunday morning a Palestinian resident when he approached a barbed wire security fence near the Israeli settlement of Elkana in the northern part of the West Bank.

Eyewitness said the Israeli soldiers, manning the fence, opened fire at the resident's foot, shortly after they ordered him to stop. No further details were reported.
