On Monday morning, the human rights workers will accompany the fishermen.
According to the Oslo Accord, fishermen should be allowed 20 nautical miles out to sea in order to e able to catch sardine migrating from the Nile delta towards Turkey during spring time but the Israeli Navy reduced the limit to 6 miles.
Many fishermen were killed, attacked and arrested by the Israeli navy which tried to impose its own agenda.
The movement said that on Monday morning the fishermen will be accompanied by it Human Rights Workers, adding that this step aims at documenting the Israeli violations against the fishermen.
The movement hopes that the presence of its activists will deter the navy from carrying further attacks and violations against the fishermen.
The movement added that its members will be present on any Gazan fishing boat at any given time and that these boats will not carry any distinctive mark to indicate the presence of activists onboard.
The scope of the campaign extends beyond Gaza City all the way along Gaza’s coast. Human Rights Workers may be present on any Gazan fishing boat, at any time from this point onward. The boats on which they are present will not be specially marked.
