In the town of Nabi Saleh, Israeli troops responded to a peaceful march with tear gas and rubber coated steel bullets. The march began after Friday prayers, hundreds of citizens attended the procession including peace activists and internationals in solidarity with Palestinians.

Those marching waved Palestinian flags along with pictures of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, and the Mosque of Bilal Bin Rabah in Bethlehem, protesting the Judaizing of sanctuaries and demanding access to confiscated land.

A number of those attending the march suffered complications from tear gas inhalation and gun shot wounds.

Israel has declared that it has included these two shrines as part of the Jewish heritage collection, which created an uproar among Palestinians, and especially the Muslim community.
