The Ma’an News Agency reported that an Israeli man went missing on Monday evening, near Nabi Mousa area, near Jericho, and that the Israeli army has declared the area as a closed military zone. The Israeli Police reported that the car of the missing man was located, and that his disappearance is likely related to a financial dispute with a resident of the area.

Engineer Majed al-Fityani, acting governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, reported that the Israeli side informed the Palestinian Authority in Jericho that the resident entered the Palestinian controlled area.

Al-Fityani added that the missing Israeli is a resident of the Negev, and that he is not an Israeli soldier as some reports previously indicated. He stated that no more information is yet available.

He earlier told Ma’an that the Palestinian security forces are conducting efforts to verify the Israeli claim.The Israeli army has started military searches in the area.
