Adham Abu Salmiyya, media spokesperson of the Emergency Unit in Gaza reported Monday that a Palestinian worker, in his thirties, was shot and wounded in his left foot while working close to the border in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza. The worker was collecting debris and stones usually used for construction purposes as the Israeli siege left the Gaza Strip without basic and essential supplies.

The worker was moved to Kamal Adwan Hospital and his injuries were described as moderate.

Abu Salmiyya stated that the number of workers who were shot and wounded by the army since March 2010 arrived to 103.
