Israeli soldiers demolished a mosque at dawn on Tuesday, in Khirbit Izra village in Wadi El-Maleh, in the north of the Jordan ValleyAref Daraghma, head of the Wadi El-Maleh Village Council and the Bedouin areas in the Jordan Valley, stated that a number of Israeli military bulldozers and officers of the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” which operates under the Israeli army, invaded the area and demolished its only mosque. The mosque is sixty square meters and has now been destroyed for the third time in seven months.

Daraghma added that the army claimed the mosque had been built without a construction permit–yet Israel continues to refuse any building permits to Palestinians in the Jordan Valley area. Israel’s three-pronged plan involves annexing more Palestinian land, increasing the number of illegal Israeli settlements, and denying Palestinians the right to build in their own areas.

Daraghma stated that Israel insists that all Palestinian construction projects are prohibited in the area.
