The Ahrar Center for Detainees Studies and Human Rights reported Tuesday [June 2 2013] that Israeli soldiers broke into the home of legislator Mohammad Abu Teir, in Kufur ‘Aqeb village, and kidnapped him after violently searching his home. Fuad Al-Khoffash, head of the Ahrar Center, stated that Abu Teir spent a total of 25 years in Israeli prisons.

Abu Teir, from occupied East Jerusalem, was illegally forced out of his city on October 8 2010, after being illegally kidnapped by Israel, and spent five months under Administrative Detention without charges or trial.

Al-Khoffash denounced the arrest of Abu Teir, and stated that his arrest is yet another Israeli war crime, and a violation to all related human rights resolutions.

The arrest on Abu Teir brings the number of illegally imprisoned democratically-elected legislators to 14.
