[Monday October 28, 2013] The Israeli Air Force fired at least one missile at an area behind the Al-Maqousy towers, close to an elementary school, northwest of Gaza city.Dr. Bassem Al-Qodra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, stated that several students suffered anxiety attacks due to the shelling.

He added that local medics and rescue teams rushed to the scene, and searched the area for potential casualties.

Furthermore, the Hamas-run security forces in Gaza, evicted their centers, and called on Palestinian security personnel to stay alert for possible further attacks.

On his part, Israeli Military spokesperson, Avichai Adraee, claimed the shelling targeted two areas in northern Gaza, allegedly used as launching pads for homemade shells.

On his twitter account, Adraee said that Israel would act against any faction or group that “seeks to harm Israel and its citizens”.

The Israeli Military claimed that resistance fighters in Gaza fired four shells, on Monday at dawn, targeting Asqalan (Ashkelon), in the southern part of the country.

Israeli Channel 10 has also reported that three shells, fired from Gaza, landed in open areas, and that the Iron Dome System intercepted the fourth. No injuries have been reported; the army also scouted the country searching for shells.
