US Secretary of State John Kerry appeared to criticize Israel, Sunday, in candid remarks caught on an open microphone between television interviews, according to Ma’an News Agency. The US politician was apparently heard to mention Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza to State Department official Jonathan Finer, just before appearing on Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s pro-Israeli gossip venue ‘Fox News Sunday’:

‘I hope they don’t think that’s an invitation to go do more,’ Kerry said. ‘That better be the warning to them.’

A frustrated Kerry went on to say, ‘It’s a hell of a pinpoint operation, it’s a hell of a pinpoint operation,’ in what Ma’an described as apparent frustration over the civilian toll in the Israeli operation.

‘We’ve got to get over there,’ Kerry said. ‘I think, Jon, we ought to go tonight. I think it’s crazy to be sitting around. Let’s go.’

The Palestinian death toll under ‘Operation Protctive Edge’ exceeded 500 on Sunday.
