Israeli troops reportedly intercepted, on Friday, the construction of a Palestinian home in the southern occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Local sources in Bethlehem told media outlets that an Israeli army force stormed the site of the construction and prevented workers from building.

Mayor of the Palestinian municipality of Nahaleen, Sobhi Zedan, told media outlets that the construction of other Palestinian homes in the area were also blocked by Israeli authorities.

Zedan further noted that Israeli authorities handed over orders to eight Palestinian residential homes, warning their inhabitants against resuming construction of the homes.

He added that an Israeli colonial institution, called Rejagim, had posted a video on social media, in which it revealed that it has been following some Palestinian construction works that would hamper Israeli settlement plans in the region.

Blocking the construction of Palestinian construction of homes, must be in the context of Israel’s illegal settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank.
