A Palestinian man was killed, two lawmakers and two civilians detained during Israeli army dawn invasions targeting West Bank communities. These stories, and more, coming up, stay tuned.
Bassel al-Aâ€™raj, 31, was killed by Israeli troops on Monday at dawn, after Israeli forces surrounded his home located al-Biereh town, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers surrounded the house, where al-Aâ€™raj was hiding and exchanged fire with him for more than two hours, until he ran out of ammunition. al-Aâ€™raj from the al-Walaja village has been wanted by the Israeli army for several months, and the soldiers frequently invaded his home, and his familyâ€™s homes, looking for him, amidst violent searches.
Two more youth were injured by the army fire as clashes erupted between the invading soldiers, and dozens of local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles on them, while the army fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.
al-Aâ€™raj was a well-known historian and a writerÂ wrote several detailed articles in support of resistance against the Israeli occupation, and calling for completely boycotting Israel in Palestine, and around the world.
in other news, Israeli Civil Administration in the occupied West Bank announced, on Monday, that it has decided to demolish the Palestinian village of Khan al-Ahmar. The village is located in Area C, according to the Oslo Peace Accords signed between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in 1993. This area is under Israel security and administrative control. The Israeli occupation is planning to confiscate the land of this village in order to build facilities serving nearby illegal settlements.
Also on Monday, Several illegal Israeli colonists assaulted, earlier Monday, many Palestinian farmers, in their own lands, in Farâ€™ata village, west of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, wounding two, including an elderly woman The assailants came from nearby illegal colonies and outposts, and attacked the farmers while plowing their lands, and preparing to replant them.
Moreover, Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday at dawn, the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and abducted two Palestinian legislators, and another Palestinian, from their homes, after invading and violently searching them.
In the meantime, Israeli troops invaded on Monday at dawn the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and abducted a former Palestinian political prisoner. The soldiers also invaded Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, summoned two former political prisoners for interrogation.
