After having been delayed a week from the original departure date, facing sabotage of two boats and a complaint against the US Boat by the Israel Law Center that activists say was politically-motivated, the US Boat to Gaza decided Friday to challenge the Greek government's forced delay of the Flotilla by taking off from Athens toward Gaza. Before leaving Greek territorial waters, they were surrounded by the Greek coast guard and forced back to port. read full story / add a comment

According to activists on the Freedom Flotilla of aid ships to Gaza, a second boat has been severely damaged by unknown saboteurs who dove under the boat to damage the propeller shaft. The boat's captain said that the way the boat was sabotaged was extremely dangerous, as it would have caused the propellor to cut through the boat's hull and make the engine room to fill with water, thus sinking the boat while en route to Gaza. read full story / add a comment

The first of the Freedom Flotilla 2 ships have set sail for the rendezvous point in the Mediterranean Sea, where it will meet the rest of the ships participating in the flotilla, according to Haaretz. Israel has declared that the Freedom Flotilla 2 will not be allowed to enter into the besieged Gaza Strip by sea. Greek officials claim they received an 'anonymous tip' over the weekend that the US Boat to Gaza, part of the ten-boat Freedom Flotilla, was not seaworthy.
