Palestinian sources reported that on Monday evening the Israeli Authorities demolished part of a house owned by a Palestinian family located in the northern part of Jerusalem city. The building which is six stories high, belongs to Khalaf and Ahamd Id’ees, witnesses said that troops and police forces surrounded the building, forced families out into the hard rain and cold weather then demolished the fifth and the sixth levels of the building before leaving.

The reason given by the Israeli army for this demolition was that that the levels had been built without obtaining necessary written permission, a document rarely given to Palestinians living in Jerusalem after the city was occupied in 1967 by Israel.

Id’ees family owns land near their house where an Israeli Jewish settlement was built several years ago, the Israeli state deemed this settlement as illegal but continue to protect it and provide it with services.
