Israeli Prison Service (IPS), on Wednesday, transferred Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike, to solitary confinement, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.

The Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said that the IPS transferred Palestinian prisoner, Sami Janazreh, who began a hunger strike ten days ago, in opposition to being placed under administrative detention, without charge.

Janazreh, 47, a father of three children aged 8, 11, and 17, and the secretary-general of Fatah, was reportedly moved from the Naqab prison to Ayla prison, and placed in solitary confinement.

The detainee is also the secretary-general of Fateh Movement in the al-Fawwar refugee camp, refugee camp southwest of Hebron in southern West Bank

The PPS noted that the IPS transferred Janazreh and placed him in solitary confinement, with the intention of forcing him to end his hunger strike.

PPS pointed out that IPS adopts the policy of frequent transfers of Janazreh from one prison to another as a means to force him to end his hunger strike, and held IPS fully responsible for the fate of Janazreh.
