Israeli soldiers injured, Friday, many Palestinians, including a medic, who was shot with a gas bomb in his face, and caused many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, during a nonviolent procession in Turmus Ayya town, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot several Palestinians with rubber-coated steel bullets, in addition to one who was shot with a gas bomb in the face.

They added that the soldiers also fired a barrage of gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, among them some who required further treatment.

The Palestinian who was shot with the gas bomb in his face, was rushed to Palestine Medical Complex, and his condition was described as moderate-but-stable.

Sa’id Taleb, the Mayor of Turmus Ayya, stated that the soldiers resorted to the excessive use of force against the Palestinians, who were nonviolently marching towards their lands which Israel is trying to illegally confiscate.

The Palestinians are also demanding the removal of a colonialist outpost which was installed by fanatic Israeli colonists on their lands.

Taleb added that, a few months ago, the army confiscated the eastern meadow of Turmus Ayya, and allowed the installation of the colonialist outpost, a move which usually precedes the construction of a new colony.

The area has about 3500 Dunams (864.8 Acres) of privately-owned agricultural lands, the only source of livelihood to dozens of families, and the Palestinians have since been protesting the illegal annexation of their lands, and have been met with the use of excessive force by the Israeli military.
