Israeli soldiers invaded, Wednesday, the archeological area in Sebastia Palestinian town, northwest of Nablus, in northern West Bank.

Mohammad Azem, the mayor of Sebastia, said several Israeli military vehicles, including an army bus, invaded the town and headed towards the archeological site.

Azem added that the soldiers closed the archaeological area and started walking around while carrying maps.

The soldiers also closed several roads around the area and prevented the Palestinians from crossing.

The soldiersĀ frequently invade SebastiaĀ to accompany groups of illegal Israeli colonialist settlers into theĀ archeological site, an issue that leads to protests, andĀ injuries.

During these invasions, the soldiers block all Palestinian traffic, in addition to frequently storming homes,Ā abducting Palestinians, andĀ attacking protesters, in addition toĀ removing the Palestinian flagĀ from the site.
