On Sunday, Israeli soldiers uprooted many trees in Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Siwlanic) said the “City Council” soldiers and personnel in occupied Jerusalem invaded the Al-Hamra area and started uprooting the trees and lands.

Silwanic added that many colonizers accompanied the soldiers after the army surrounded the area.

The colonizers brought concrete trucks, bulldozers, and construction machines and started pouring concrete foundations and other work to build a new colony on the stolen lands.

The soldiers also invaded several homes and shops in the Al-Isawiya town, east of Jerusalem, and confiscated surveillance equipment and recordings.

It is worth mentioning that the colonizers invaded and occupied five Dunams of Palestinian lands in Al-Hamra on December 27th,  2022; Israeli police officers accompanied the colonizers and abducted three young men protesting the attack.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
