Tens of thousands of Palestinian, Arab and international Christians made their way Sunday to the occupied holy city of Jerusalem to mark the major Christian occasion of Easter festival, which is celebrated by most Christian sects in Palestine and overseas. According to the Wafa News Agency, Archbishop Attallah Hannas of the Rome Orthodox Church, headed this morning a special ceremony for large crowds of believers. Archbishop Hanna stressed on Jesus Christ’s teachings, which call for peace, love and good morals. He also denounced the restrictive Israeli measures against the Palestinian residents of the city, asserting the fact that the Arab Christians are part and parcel of the Arab nation, the Arab culture and the Arab civilization. Closing his sermon, Hanna advocated to God that peace prevails in the holy land for the sake of dignity and independence. Israel occupied the holy city of Jerusalem during the Arab-Israeli war in June 4th, 1967.
