The al-Aqsa brigade, the armed wing of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party announced on Saturday that they are committed to a truce with Israel.
The brigade said that they will commit to the truce which the Palestinian president called for on Friday.
However in the press statement faxed to the media the resistance group said that their commitment to the truce may break if the Israeli army continues to attack the Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The brigade called upon all its fighters in Gaza Strip and the West Bank to halt attacks against Israeli targets and to give a chnce for the political efforts carried out by the Palestinian President.
While the truce is unilateral, the brigade has asked Israel to reciprocate, and called upon the international community to pressure Israeli to halt its attacks on the Palestinians and give peace talks a chance.
