Yasser Arafat brigades, one of the military wings of Al Aqsa Brigades, claimed responsibility for firing at an Israeli military patrol in the West Bank city of Jenin; two soldiers were reportedly injured.

The brigades reported that this shooting incident comes in retaliation for the assassination of Raed Ahmad Ali Shihada, 21, on Friday evening, in the West Bank city of Tulkarem.

The brigades said that Shihada was shot and killed after exchanging fire with the Special Forces for 15 minutes, in Anabta village, near Tulkarem.

An Israeli military source claimed that Raed fired at the soldiers as they were operating in Tulkarem.

Also, a spokesperson of the brigades in Tulkarem denied reports which stated that another resident was killed in Tulkarem.

Also on Saturday, Israeli soldiers claimed arresting a woman carrying her one-month baby and a hand grenade, which was in the pocket of her Jacket.

The woman, Azeeza Jawabra, said that she did not know of a bomb in her jacket.

Lieutenant Colonel Arik Chen said that his soldiers decided to search the woman after they “became suspicious of the way she was carrying the baby”.
