The Jihad Jibril Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, reported that Israeli troops attempted to assassinate the Brigades leader, Abu Jindel, in Nablus.
The Palestinian Maan News Agency reported that a statement issued by the Brigades said that soldiers ambushed Abu Jindel near Balata Refugee Camp and attempted to assassinate him.
Abu Jindal escaped unharmed, the statement added.
