The Al Quds brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility forfiring homemade shells at the Israeli city of Ashkelon, Monday morning.

Israel confirmed the statement, saying that one homemade shell landed near the  Zikim Israeli military base, south of Ashkelon, no injuries were reported.

Both the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, the armed wing of Fateh, and the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the firing of three homemade shells into the Israeli negev town of Sderot Monday afternoon.

The Al Quds Brigades claimed responsibility for shelling the city of Al Majdal with two home made shells Monday.

Israeli news websites reported that a Palestinian homemade shell landed near a strategic installation in the Israeli city of Ashkelon.
