Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) is calling for a full investigation by the Israeli Military Attorney’s office after their independent investigation revealed the Israeli Army illegally targeted the civilian home of the Hajjaj family July 8, 2006. which killed three family members and injured four others. PCHR is calling the deaths of Ammouna Yousef Hajjaj and her two children murder.

In a press release issued Wednesday, PCHR said the Hajjaj family were victims of Israeli measures that clearly do not differentiate between civilians and others. The Israeli army targets civilians for the sake of inflicting additional casualties among Palestinians in contravention of the Fourth Geneva Convention

According to the Palestine News Agency, WAFA, PCHR is also seeking compensation for the victims of the incident that is being classified as a war crime.

Ammouna Yousef Hajjaj, 42, her son Mohammad Farid, 23, and her daughter Rawan Farid, 6, were killed and four other family members were injured when three rockets from Israeli drones hit the family’s backyard July 8, 2006. The family was in the backyard at the time and the three killed were hit directly, the investigation reported.

The Israel Army spokesman denies directly targeting the family and said the spy plane was targeting an armed Palestinian with a rocket near the Hajjaj family house.

The PCHR report was compiled with field visits to the attack site, eyewitness accounts, medical reports, pictures of the dead and wounded, and examination of shrapnel and rocket remains in the house.
