On Tuesday night, Israeli soldiers injured 87 Palestinians, including a young man who was shot in the back, and several medics, in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Update: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the soldiers shot six Palestinians, including one who was shot with a live round in the back, and five who were shot with rubber-coated steel bullets.

The PRCS added that eighty Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, including a woman, 51, who was rushed to a hospital due to the severe effects of tear gas inhalation in her home.

The Quds News Network said a large military force, including armored bulldozers, invaded the Amman Steet and areas in the eastern part of Nablus and installed sandhills to close roads, leading to protests.

Quds News added that the army used surveillance drones and drones that dropped gas bombs on the protesters.

The soldiers also fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs at the Palestinians, causing scores to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the army also fired gas bombs at its ambulances, causing several injuries among the medics.

The PRCS stated that the army shot a young man with a live round in the back, another with a gas bomb in the arm, and three with rubber-coated steel bullets, and caused dozens, including medics, to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The PRCS also said one woman, 51, was rushed to a hospital due to the severe effects of tear gas inhalation in her home.

It is worth mentioning that the army frequently invades the eastern area of Nablus to accompany the colonists into the Joseph’s Tomb historic site, an issue that leads to protests, in addition to the ongoing invasions of homes and the abduction of many Palestinians.

Joseph, the patriarch, is revered by Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Samaritans alike; however, the Israeli military allows Jews to visit as part of organized pilgrimages, despite the site being in Area A, where the PA has full control and prohibits Muslims from worshiping at the site.

Ultra-orthodox and nationalist Jews regularly try to visit the shrine without approval, as many Jews believe the tomb to be the final resting place of the biblical figure in the Old Testament.

Palestinians believe Joseph’s Tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Yousif Dweikat, a local religious figure.
