Israeli forces attacked, on Friday, non-violent Palestinian demonstrators in the village of Beit Dajan, assaulted the mayor and injured at least three others, local sources reported.
Palestinians gathered on village lands threatened with Israeli colonization, waving Palestinian flags, at the weekly anti-settlement march in Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank.
Israeli soldiers responded to the non-violent protestors by opening fire with rubber-coated steel rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters.
During the peaceful procession, soldiers assaulted the mayor of the village, Nasri Abu Jeish, who sustained bruising, and was treated on site by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) medics.
At least three participants suffered the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation during the army’s attempt to suppress the anti-colonization march.
Meanwhile, at the weekly anti-settement procession in Kufur Qaddoum village, east of Qalqilia, in the northwestern West Bank, Israeli forces shot and injured four Palestinians, and caused dozens more to sustain inhalation injuries due to tear gas exposure.
