Palestinian sources reported on Tuesday that the acting Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyya, from the Hamas party, held in his Gaza office a meeting with Fateh and Hamas leaders for further talks on the consultation for forming a National Unity Government, Fateh spokesperson, Abdul-Hakim Awad stated.!– @page { size: 21.59cm 27.94cm; margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } –>Awad said that Haniyya informed the delegates on the latest developments on talks with other factions regarding the formation of the new unity government, including the factions that rejected to be part of the upcoming government.
Awad added that Haniyya asked Fateh, Hamas and the other factions that agreed to be part of the new government to hand him the names of their candidates by Friday 9 pm.
He also said that the meeting came to activate a plan that aims at providing the residents with a decent life and security.
Both movements agreed to stop all smear campaigns and to implement all of the articles included in the Mecca Unity Agreement.
Awad also said that Fateh demanded that all factions should be invited to the dialogue regarding political partnership that includes all factions.
He called for ending all sorts of tension and conflicts between Hamas and Fateh and asserted on the importance of protecting the Palestinian internal unity and national interests. He said that Fateh demanded that all missing equipment and weapons must be returned.
The equipment and weapons were taken by gunmen during the clashes between Fateh and Hamas gunmen, they also include vehicles and ammunition.
