Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian young man, on Friday night, in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.
According to medical sources at the Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron, the former prisoner, Ibrahim Hamza Ibrahim Zaqaqiq, 20, died shortly after being shot in the head with live ammunition.
Media activist, Mohammad Awad, told the WAFA News Agency that occupation forces invaded Beit Ummar town, before midnight on Friday/Saturday, sparking protests.
He added that soldiers fired live rounds, tear gas canisters, and concussion grenades at citizens, shooting Zaqaqiq in the head with a live round, causing serious injuries; he was transported to Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron.
Dozens of citizens suffered inhalation injuries as a result of tear gas exposure; they were treated at the scene by local medics.
Earlier Friday, the young man, Yamen Ahmad Asfour, 19, succumbed to wounds he sustained at the hands of the occupation army in January 2024 in Arraba town, southwest of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces have now killed 578 Palestinian civilians, including 140 children, and injured more than 5,350 others, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
