On Thursday, Day 371 of the ongoing ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people across the Gaza Strip, Israeli missile and shells killed and injured many Palestinians, including an infant, in the starved, destroyed and devastated coastal enclave.
Medical sources said that three citizens, including a woman, were killed early Friday morning in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in Deir al-Balah, and a group of Palestinians in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.
Also in Deir al-Balah, the Israeli army fired a missile at a home belonging to the Kurd family, which was sheltering displaced people, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to others; they were taken to Al-Aqsa Hospital.
In Maghazi refugee camp, two Palestinians were killed and others injured after an Israeli drone fired a missile at a group of citizens; they were transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
In Nuseirat refugee camp, the army fired a missile at a house belonging to the Dweik family, injuring at least four Palestinians who were transferred to Al-Awda Hospital.
In Jabalia, in northern Gaza, the army fired artillery shells at homes, killing at least one Palestinian and causing several injuries.
Another Palestinian was also killed when an Israeli drone fire a missile near the Sports Center in Jabalia.
The army also wired and detonated several homes and buildings in Jabalia, while Palestinian Civil Defense medics said they managed to evacuate five Palestinians who became stranded at a junction in the Jabalia refugee camp.
Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jabalia said its paramedics transferred several injured Palestinians to Kamal Adwan Hospital after the army fired a missile at a house near Al-Ihsan Mosque.
The administration of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia refugee camp confirmed that, despite the lack of medical supplies and resources, there is no evacuation of the hospital and emphasized the focus on bringing in fuel and strengthening the health system in the north.
Some children and injured patients were transferred to hospitals in Gaza city to alleviate pressure on hospitals in northern, but they will continue to provide health services to citizens despite the limited resources.
Al-Jazeera English said families remain trapped in Jabalia as the Israeli army continued the renewed offensive there for the seventh day.
In the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza city, the army fired many artillery shells and barrages of live round on citizens’ homes, while Israeli drones fired bullets at Palestinians, causing several injuries.
In addition, an elderly man, Salam Ahmad Hajjaj, was killed when he was shot with a live round fired by an Israeli done in the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza city.
In addition, one Palestinian was killed and several others injured when the army fired a missile at a home for the Shehada family in the Saftawi neighborhood, northwest of Gaza city.
Al-Jazeera stated that the Israeli army bombs a clinic that was used by as shelter by displaced families, and added that at least four Palestinians, including an infant. were killed and many injured.
“This morning, while I was doing my lessons, the building was hit with a missile. I started screaming and crying. I ran down to see all those children killed,” a Palestinian girl who survived the attack told Al Jazeera.
“We were sitting peacefully and all of a sudden, there was a huge explosion,” a man told Al-Jazeera, “A missile was fired on us, right through the top of the building. A months-old baby girl was blown to pieces in the upper floors. Down here, many innocent civilians were killed. There are no resistance fighters or militants here. This is a war crime.”
UN investigators have accused Israel of committing “war crimes and crimes against humanity” due to its intentional attacks on healthcare facilities and medical personnel in Gaza.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that there are almost no health services left in northern Gaza, as Israel continues to block relief missions from reaching the area.
In a post on Platform X last night, Ghebreyesus noted that Israel has once again prevented two WHO missions from accessing northern Gaza.
He called on Israel to halt forced displacement orders and to refrain from targeting hospitals, adding, “There are almost no health services left in northern Gaza; people have nowhere to go.”
He urged Israel to “facilitate humanitarian aid missions, as lives depend on them.”
He continued, “We call on Israel to work towards a ceasefire; everyone caught in this conflict needs peace.”
In a joint statement, 18 international relief organizations, including British, French, American, and Swiss groups, warned that the increasing tension in northern Gaza will lead to a humanitarian disaster.
The organizations stated that Israel’s displacement of Palestinians in northern Gaza would worsen the humanitarian situation and hinder relief efforts.
In an unofficial tally, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli military in Gaza since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, has risen to at least 42,065 killed, and 97,866 wounded, the majority of whom are women and children, and thousands of victims who are still under the rubble and on the roads where they cannot be reached.
Among the slain Palestinians are at least 16,891 children, 11,458 women, 174 journalists, 85 emergency responders, 986 medical staff, and 203 UNRWA staff.
The British Lancet Medical Journal and other experts estimate the death toll in Gaza is much higher – and could be above 200,000, when counting both direct and indirect deaths related to the Israeli war on Gaza.
