The statements of Abbas came during an interview published by the daily Clarin Argentinean paper.
He also called on the Brazilian President, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, to be more involved in the Middle East peace process.
Abbas added that the Brazilian president has good relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority and could play an important role in achieving peace.
The Palestinian President stated that he hopes the United States would practice pressure on Israel to abide by its commitments to the Road Map peace plan, and to abide by the International Law.
Abbas visited Argentina on Tuesday after conducting a visit to Brazil. He also intends to visit Chile.
As for the Palestinian stance for peace, Abbas said that the Palestinians cannot make any more concessions as they already accepted only 22% of Palestine, giving Israel 78% of the historic land of Palestine.
“This is a huge concession”, Abbas said, “What else they expect us to give”.
He further stated that the Palestinian independence would be unilaterally declared should Israel refuse to allow the P.A to do so.
“But Israel is trying to tell the world that the Palestinians want to act unilaterally”, Abbas said, “We are not seeking any unilateral decision, but we will do it if we have to”.
