Israeli occupation forces invaded the home of slain Palestinian Qussai Halaiqa, 28, in the town of Sa’ir, northeast of Hebron in the occupied West Bank’s southern part, on Wednesday night, only hours after he was killed near the Tunnel military roadblock west of Beit Jala in Bethlehem governorate.
Many military vehicles entered Sa’ir and deployed across multiple neighborhoods before breaking into the family home in the al‑Qafan area.
Soldiers detained members of the Halaiqa family, assaulted and interrogated them, and ransacked the house, causing extensive damage to its contents. The soldiers then abducted Qussai’s brother, Maher, before taking him to a nearby military base.
Troops simultaneously sealed the surrounding area, forced shop owners to close, and blocked the residents’ movement. Several young men were detained and subjected to field interrogations at gunpoint.
Earlier in the day, the General Authority of Civil Affairs informed the Ministry of Health that Halaiqa had been killed after Israeli forces opened fire on him near the Tunnel military roadblock west of Beit Jala.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces abducted two Palestinians from their homes in the town of al‑Karmel, east of Yatta.
Activist Osama Makhmara stated that military vehicles invaded the town and abducted Jihad Khalil al‑Shawahin and Hussein Mahmoud Shawahin after breaking into their homes, searching them, and damaging their belongings.
Meanwhile, in Masafer Yatta, armed illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers chased several residents and shepherds in the areas of Rajum ‘Ali and Abu Shaban.
The colonizers assaulted the Palestinians in front of Israeli forces, who detained several residents, mistreated them, and later released them.
