The Muslim call to prayer (Athan) was prohibited by the Israeli authorities at Hebron’s al-Ibrahimi Mosque for 54 times, during the month of October, the Middle East Monitor reported. Palestinian sources condemned Israel’s ban on the call to prayer at al-Ibrahimi Mosque saying that the decision was made on the pretext of disturbing settlers celebrating Jewish festivities.
Israeli authorities currently impose several restrictions and strict military measures at the main entries and routes leading to the Mosque.
