Israeli forces shot a Palestinian child in Qalqilia and a man in Jenin with live ammunition early Sunday as soldiers invaded communities across the occupied West Bank. The invasions included home break-ins, abductions, street closures, and military deployments in several cities, towns, and villages.
In Qalqilia, a Palestinian child was shot in the thigh with live ammunition during an Israeli military invasion. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews treated the child before transferring him to a hospital.
During the invasion, soldiers broke into and searched several homes, particularly in the city’s Old City, causing property damage. Israeli forces also abducted Mohammad Al-Baz, Muath Abu Asab, Alaa Dweiri, and brothers Abdulrahman Khadraj and Abdulrazzaq Khadraj.
In Jenin, a 50-year-old Palestinian man was shot in the hand and leg with live ammunition in the Al-Jabriyat area. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews transported him to a hospital for treatment.
In Tulkarem, Israeli forces continued their invasion of Ramin, east of the city, breaking into homes and firing sound grenades and illumination flares.
In a separate incident, an Israeli military vehicle collided with a Palestinian vehicle in an eastern neighborhood of Tulkarem.
Israeli forces also invaded the eastern area of Nablus in the northern West Bank, deploying across several neighborhoods, closing streets, and breaking into and searching homes.
Separately, illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers invaded the village of Awarta, south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.
Israeli soldiers also invaded the Burqa school, northwest of Nablus, on Sunday, the first day of the new school year.
In Huwwara, south of Nablus, Israeli soldiers invaded Huwwara Secondary School and demanded that the Palestinian flag be removed.
In Tubas in the northeastern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Tubas city and the town of Aqqaba, north of the city, early Sunday.
Kamal Bani Odah, director of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society office in Tubas, said Israeli forces abducted ten residents and detained several others during the invasion, and added that soldiers converted a house under construction into a field-interrogation center for young men from the town.
The abducted Palestinians were identified as Ahmad Yousef Ghannam, Suleiman Sa’id Ghannam, Ahmad Adel Ghannam, Karim Ja’far Ghannam, Ala’ Yassin Ghannam, Hamed Saqer Ghannam, Suleiman Saqer Ghannam, Mahmoud Walid Salama, Khaled Raed Abu ‘Arra, and Amro Ahmad Al-Masri.
The soldiers deployed across several areas of Aqqaba, north of Tubas, amid gunfire and drone activity, broke into and searched homes, and confiscated a private vehicle.
Media sources in Aqqaba said Israeli soldiers carried out a controlled explosion in a building they had previously invaded in the town.
The Tubas Directorate of Education said it delayed the start of classes in Aqqaba until 9 a.m. because of the continuing Israeli military presence.
Israeli forces later withdrew from the town after several hours of invasion, during which soldiers broke into and searched homes and other properties.
Israeli forces also invaded Jericho in the eastern Jordan Valley. No immediate information was available regarding injuries or abductions.
In the southern West Bank, an Israeli infantry unit invaded Beit Awwa, west of Dura in the Hebron governorate. No confrontations or injuries were reported as of publication.
Elsewhere in the Hebron governorate, colonizers invaded Khallet al-Hummus in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and released their cattle into the courtyard of a resident’s home.
