Israeli forces launched widespread invasions across the occupied West Bank early Thursday. Soldiers abducted Palestinians, detained and assaulted residents, broke into homes, and fired live ammunition, concussion grenades and tear gas.
In Qalqilia, in the northwestern West Bank, about 15 military vehicles carrying dozens of soldiers invaded Azzun, east of the city, and deployed across several neighborhoods.
Soldiers broke into homes in the eastern, al-Mansour, cemetery, Shami and al-Ghanawi neighborhoods, as well as in Khallet ad-Darba and Khallet at-Tina.
Local sources said soldiers severely beat Ma’an Radwan inside his home and converted Ayman al-Mansour’s home into a military post, where they held several detainees.
Those abducted in Azzun were identified as Karim Azzam Khleif, Mohammad Radwan and his son Walid, Osama Adnan Shbeita, Mohammad Tabib, Mohammad al-Qattash, Mohammad Ashraf Salim, Mahmoud al-Ghinnawi, Ashraf Mamoun, Mohammad Taher Salim, Mustafa Hassan Salama, Ismail al-Bam and Baraa Shaher Hussein.
Soldiers also broke into and searched the homes of Bassam Shallo, Bilal Hanoun, Hassan Salama and Mohammad Shbeita, ransacking their contents while firing concussion grenades and tear gas toward Palestinian homes.
Israeli forces continued their invasion of Qalqilia city, which began Wednesday evening, and deployed reinforcements in the Nazzal, Kafr Saba and Tabbal neighborhoods and along Wadi Street. The Tabbal neighborhood remained under military siege.
Soldiers broke into homes, including the family home of imprisoned Palestinian Majed Nazzal, and searched a shop and farmland.
They also detained several young men and interrogated them in the field. Local sources said Israeli gunfire wounded two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old child.
The local Education Directorate delayed the opening of private schools and kindergartens in Qalqilia and Azzun until 9 a.m. because the invasions continued into Thursday morning.
In Tubas, in the northeastern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Tammun, southeast of the city, early Thursday. Several military patrols entered the town after advancing from the Atouf gate and the Tayasir military roadblock.
Infantry units deployed across several neighborhoods and broke into several homes. Kamal Bani Odeh, director of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society office in Tubas, said soldiers detained 17 Palestinians and interrogated them in the field before releasing most of them. Forces also invaded Tayasir, east of Tubas, and broke into a home. In Tubas city, soldiers broke into another home during a separate invasion.
In Nablus, in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded Beit Imrin, northwest of the city, and the town of Sebastia. Other forces invaded Nablus city through the Beit Furik military roadblock.
Soldiers also invaded Azmut and Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus, broke into and searched homes, ransacked their contents, and interrogated residents in the field before abducting at least two young men.
In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, soldiers invaded Silat al-Harithiya, west of the city, and abducted Ala’ Taher Ziyoud and Hamza Ahed Jaradat after breaking into and searching their homes, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society. Forces also invaded Kafr Qud, northwest of Jenin, and broke into a home.
In Hebron, in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces invaded ath-Thaheriya and, in a separate invasion, broke into several homes in Yatta.
In Bethlehem, in the southern West Bank, soldiers invaded Husan, west of the city, deployed across several neighborhoods, and abducted Mohammad Nashat Ibrahim Hamamra, 28, after breaking into his family’s home.
In Salfit, in the central West Bank, soldiers invaded Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of the city, and demolished a Palestinian-owned home under construction. Local sources said the forces detained nine Palestinians and interrogated them in the field before releasing them.
In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, Israeli forces invaded al-Mughayyir, northeast of the city, and broke into a home. Soldiers also invaded al-Bireh and abducted Mamoun al-Barghouthi and his brother Ibrahim after breaking into their home.
In Ni’lin, west of Ramallah, soldiers abducted Assem al-Khawaja, Mohammad Bassam al-Khawaja and Mousa Fathi al-Khawaja.
Furthermore, Israeli forces, accompanied by military bulldozers, invaded Palestinian orchards in the town of Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, where they proceeded to bulldoze the land and uproot trees.
The soldiers also uprooted dozens of olive trees belonging to a Palestinian farmer from Deir Ninham village, west of Ramallah.
In Tulkarem, in the northwestern West Bank, a large Israeli force invaded Ezbet Shufa, south of the city, and broke into several homes.
Witnesses said soldiers conducted extensive searches, photographed the properties, detained and interrogated residents in the field, and inspected their identification documents.
In occupied Jerusalem, an undercover Israeli unit infiltrated Airport Road near Qalandia refugee camp, north of the city, and abducted Yousef Dina, according to local sources.
Israeli forces also tightened restrictions at military roadblocks surrounding the city, particularly Jaba, Anata and Qalandia, causing severe traffic congestion and obstructing Palestinian movement.
