The National Resistance Brigades, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed joint responsibility for firing two Grad missiles into Ashkelon on Friday at dawn. The attacks came after the army carried out a series of air strikes.In their statement, the two groups said that the firing of the missiles came in retaliation to the escalating Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, and vowed further attacks.
They added that resistance is the only means for achieving the national Palestinian rights.
On Thursday evening, the Israeli Air Force carried out several air strikes targeting Gaza City. A young man, in his twenties, was mildly wounded, and was moved to al-Shifa Medical Center in Gaza.
Furthermore, Israeli drones fired missiles at a building used by the Intelligence services in Gaza, and also fired four missiles at a base used by fighters of the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.
Several artillery shells were fired by the Israeli army into areas near the a;-Mintar Commercial Crossing, east of Gaza City.
Furthermore, the army bombarded an area in Jabal al-Rayyes, east of Gaza City, and also bombarded an area in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
