Palestinian medical sources reported, on Sunday evening, that a young Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli army fire east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza; the man was left to bleed to death for six hours as the soldiers prevented a Palestinian ambulance crew from reaching him.The sources said that Ahmad an-Nabaheen, 20, was injured by rounds of live ammunition, fired at him by Israeli soldiers, as he approached the border fence.
The sources added that as Palestinians medics rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue the wounded resident, but Israeli soldiers fired several warning shots, and prevented the medics from reaching the wounded resident; six hours later, the medics were allowed to reach the resident who bled to death before the medics were allowed through.
Several Palestinian youths try to cross into Israel through the border fence in an attempt to find work, due to extreme poverty resulting from the illegal Israeli siege on Gaza and due to Israel’s constant attacks; dozens have been arrested, injured, and some of them were shot dead as they approached the fence.
