Several Palestinians suffocated from tear gas inhalation as Israeli forces suppressed the demonstration of a crowd who gathered in front of Ofer prison, in solidarity with prominent Palestinian human rights activist Abdullah Abu Rahmeh.
Abu Rahmeh was sentenced to four months in prison, a suspended sentence for three years and a $545 fine, based on charges from 2016.
The sentence was based on his detention of May 13, 2016, over his participation in a cycling marathon that started from Ramallah until the apartheid wall at his Bil’in village, west of Ramallah.
Abu Rahmeh has been detained several times in the past, for his activism, according to WAFA.
