Dozens of militant Fatah’ rebels stormed Saturday the PA legislative council building in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah, in a move to pressure the PA to offer them better conditions on a deal to recruit them into the PA security forces.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry said Saturday that it would take decisive measures to end the state of lawlessness, confirming that such acts would not be tolerated.

The PA has decided to give hundreds of gunmen from al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades jobs in its security forces, but apparently has not arrived at a final deal with the brigades’ leaders.

The militants said their move came to protest the delay in implementing the decision to recruit them in security forces, saying that they had not used violence or held anyone hostage.

Group spokesman Abu Wael said all the gunmen left the offices and would wait for a response from the Palestinian Authority.
