In a statement by the special units division in Bethlehem, part of the Palestinian Authority’s security apparatus, the officers and members of the division accepted a decision by the Ministry of the Interior disbanding the division and ordering its members to join a Palestinian army intelligence unit.
The officers and members of the special units division, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the decision to send them to the army intelligence unit, saying they were being treated “like sheep.†They should be allowed to go to the divisions of their choice, the statement said.
