UK Parliament member visits Gaza

Dr. Phyllis Starkey, UK Member of Parliament for Milton Keynes South West, visited the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening, local sources reported.

Starkey was detained at the Eretz crossing for more than 6 hours, but she insisted in getting into Gaza; a group of Palestinian officials representing NGO’s was waiting for here in the other side.

 

“The situation in Gaza is shocking, Starkey said, ‘The world says that Gaza is free, I can not feel that”.

 

Starkey held a meeting with Palestinian officials in the Islamic university, in Gaza, and had a brief meeting with Mahmoud AL Zahhar, one of Hamas political leaders, local sources reported.
