Four hours after the Israeli soldiers arrested a Palestinian youth, and claimed that he was carrying an explosive belt, an Israeli military source admitted that the belt was fake and carried no explosive materials.

Israeli soldiers closed the Huwwara checkpoint, near the West Bank city of Nablus, after arresting the youth, and barred the residents from crossing for several hours. The soldiers claimed they had found an explosive belt with the youth.

The soldiers said they wanted to detonate the explosive in a controlled explosion. Later, it was revealed the belt was only a fake.

In a separate incident in Hebron, Israeli soldiers arrested an individual in the Ibrahimi Mosque. Soldiers claimed the person carried a knife and intended to stab an Israeli soldier.
