Israeli online daily Haaretz reported that a far-right settlers group is planning to construct fifteen new settlement outposts in several West Bank areas.
The group, which calls itself The Loyalists of the Land of Israel ((Ne’emanei Eretz Yisrael) has already attempted to build four illegal during the Jewish feast of Sukkot in October this year, and intended to carry another constructions during the Hanukah festival.
Haaretz said that the group is headed by right-wing activists who were evacuated from the Gaza Strip during the implementation of the disengagement plan in August. The main leaders of the group are Daniela Weiss, and Rabbi Moshe Levinger.
The two are expected to hold a conference in the West Bank city of Hebron next Tuesday.
Also, Datia Yitzhak, a settler-woman who was evacuated from the former Gaza settlement bloc of Gush Katif, said that the goal of the group is to encourage “the national camp which is still in a state of shock after the blow it suffered during pullout”, according to Yitzhak.
“We will build the outposts”, she said, “This is our way to tell the public and the leadership that there will be no more evacuations”.
Also, the group intends to light more than 100 torches in existing settlement outposts and several settlements in the West Bank “to express their support of settlement in the West Bank”.
