During his presence in Bethlehem, and his participation in Christmas celebrations in The Church of Nativity, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said that the Legislative Elections will be held without any delays.

Abbas also met with Fateh candidates in Bethlehem, and said that Fateh members in Bethlehem are determined to preserve the unity of the movement.
 
Commenting on the elections in Jerusalem, Abbas said that Jerusalemite Palestinians will participate in the elections, adding that the Palestinian position regarding this issue is nonnegotiable.
 
He added that he demanded the American Administration to pressure Israel in order to stop the invasions and military attacks in the Palestinian territories, especially during the elections and election campaign.
 
“Such attacks obstruct the democratic process”, Abbas said.
 
Also, Abbas added that he demanded Israel to allow the Palestinian detainees to participate in the elections, and that he is still waiting the Israeli response on this issue.       
 
Commenting on the internal situation of Fateh movement, Abbas said that the issue of the unified list will be finalized soon, and that Fateh will run the elections “strong and steadfast”.
 
During his visit to Bethlehem, Abbas met with mayors and heads of local councils in the district, and listened to their complaints and demands, especially regarding the financial crises they face, and promised to find proper slutions.
