The Al Aqsa martyrs brigades, the armed wing of Fateh, claimed in a press release issued on Wednesday morning responsibility for killing one Israeli soldier.
The press release stated that a unit from the brigades shot an Israeli soldier while patrolling near an Israeli military post, close Beit Hanoun.
According to the statement, military ambulances rushed to the scene; the shooting took place at dawn; Israeli sources did not comment on the statement.
The brigades added this attack comes in response to the assassination of a Hamas leader in the West Bank city of Tulkarem on Tuesday morning.
