Dr. Muawiya Hassanen, head of the emergency unit at the Palestinian Ministry of Health, reported on Wednesday at night, that one resident died of wounds sustained earlier on Wednesday in the central Gaza Strip rising the number of residents killed the Israeli army in 72 hours up to 13.Dr. Hassanen stated that resident Idrees Al Shareef, 21, was seriously injured after the Israeli army fired several shells at Juhr Al Deek area in the central Gaza Strip.
One resident identified as Murad Abdul Majeed Al Hour, 21, died in the strike, while Al Shareef was seriously injured and transferred to an Israeli hospital where he was officially pronounced dead.
Al Shareef was hit in his head and body by shrapnels of a nail bomb. He was first transferred to Al Aqsa Hospital, then to Al Shifa hospital, both in Gaza, before he was transferred to an Israeli hospital.
Dr. Hassanen added that Al Shareef died at an Israeli checkpoint after the soldiers delayed the ambulance transferring him to the Israeli hospital for two hours.
An Israeli army source claimed that Al Shareef was injured while he was attempting, along with Al Shareef, to place an explosive device near the “border fence” between Gaza and Israel.
Also on Wednesday at night, Israeli soldiers shelled several areas in the Gaza Strip causing damage, no injuries were reported.
