Israeli police and army units enforced a total closure on Jerusalem Friday morning and banned Muslims under the age of 45 from praying at Al Aqsa mosque.
Police and military units were widely deployed in and around the old city, due to Israeli officials’ expectation that Muslims would demonstrate following Friday noon time prayers against offensive caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad published in several European newspapers, local sources reported.
