Monday night, a Palestinian security source in the Gaza Strip reported that Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian woman near the Kissufim Crossing in the central Gaza Strip.A medical source at the Al Qqsa Martyrs Hospital, in Dir Al Balah, identified the woman as Nayfa Abu Msa’ed, 25. She was hit by rounds of live ammunition in several parts of her body, especially her chest.
Abu Msa’ed was rushed to the hospital where she died of her wounds.
The Israeli army claimed that soldiers fired warning rounds of live ammunition at dozens of residents who came close to the “security fence” near Dir Al Balah.
The residents were several hundred meters away from the fence.
According to the army, soldiers identified "movement of suspicious figures 50 meters from the fence".
Soldiers at a lookout post claimed that they fired warning shots that weren’t aimed directly at “the suspected figures”, and that they didn’t identify any hits, Israeli online daily Haaretz reported.
In a separate incident, the Al Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, and Abu Ali Mustafa brigades, the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, issued a joint press release claiming responsibility for firing at two Israeli vehicles driving near Juhr Al Deek area, in the Central Gaza Strip.
The two armed factions said that the attack comes in retaliation to the continuous Israeli, violations, and assassinations against Palestinian resistance fighters.
Earlier on Monday, Israeli soldiers arrested 18 Palestinians in several West Bank area; army claims that the arrestees are members of the Islamic Jihad.
