Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for firing one homemade shell into the Nateef Hamssera settlement near the Israeli town of Al Majdal, near the Gaza strip, on Wednesday morning.

Israeli sources said the shell landed in an open area causing no damage or injuries. The Israeli army responded by shelling the northern part of the Gaza strip.

The Brigades stated in a press release that the attack came as a response to Israeli army attacks against Palestinians and emphasized their right to continue resisting the illegal occupation of their land.
