Israeli soldiers arrested on Sunday two Palestinian children, 14 and 15 years old, in the West Bank city of Bethlehem. Soldiers ambushed the two children when they came near to the Wall on the Beit Sahour side of Bethlehem, near Har Homa settlement on Abu Ghneim mountain. The children entered an area which had been annexed and isolated for Wall construction, where they were assaulted by ten Israeli soldiers from the border guard. The soldiers kicked and beat the boys, and hit them with batons and rifle butts.
Eyewitnesses to the event said that after being beaten to the ground, the boys were blindfolded and taken away to an unknown destination. While an Israeli military spokesperson claimed that the boys had seven Molotov cocktails, eyewitnesses counter the claim, saying the boys were unarmed.
