Israeli Polices increased their presence around the Aqsa Mosque in east Jerusalem since early morning on Monday.
Officers installed checkpoints and blocked all gates of the old city, and searched dozens of residents, local sources reported.
Islamic Endowments Department in its return has intensified the presence of Aqsa civil guards all over the Mosque.
The department said that Jewish extremist groups repeatdly announced intensions to attack the Aqsa Mosque.
