Israeli soldiers operating at the military checkpoint at the entrance of the West Bank city of Jenin prevented scores of civilian cars from entring or leaving the city, Saturday morning.

Residents were forced to take roads through towns and villages nearby in order to arrive to the city.

Local sources said soldiers installed a military checkpoint closing Arabah’s intersection south of the city, and prevented them from passing.

Also residents reported that another military force blocked the main road leading to the nearby village of Bier Al Basha, and detained a number of civilian vehicles which tried to bypass the checkpoint through dust roads.

Soldiers searched cars for long time causing many of the passengers to be delayed and miss their jobs and schools, local sources reported.
